Hama Makino is a Senior Gender and SGB Advisor with Athena Global. Born in the US and raised in Japan, and a veteran of Wall Street, Hama currently lives in Amsterdam with her Italian husband (who helped edit this video). She has been focused on financial inclusion in emerging markets for the past 13 years, contributing her advisory expertise to projects in over 30 countries. She speaks fluent Japanese, English, Spanish and Portuguese, and dabbles in Italian. She claims to be having some trouble learning Dutch, but we doubt that. If you don’t know Hama, you should!
